March Scopes are one of the top choices of the pro shooters. Though they are highly popular among the Benchrest crowd, they are becoming more and more popular among the tactical community. In fact, the long-range hunters have also started liking the long-range versions, especially for the wide magnification ranges in these scopes.
The March rifle scopes are built by the experienced engineers and craftsmen, having a combined experience of more than 50 years in the high-end optical industry of Japan. Genuine Japanese made parts are used in the March Scopes so that the highest possible optical standards are maintained. March riflescopes can be used in a wide array of applications including Benchrest & other competitions, hunting, and tactical situations. To maintain their quality standard, the owners test the scopes individually before shipping.
The best thing about the March scopes is the high-quality low dispersion ED lenses, which are considered as one of the best quality optics. These optics come with a superior quality that is better than 99% of the scopes available in the market.
Almost all the variants (except for the non-adjustable, fixed scopes) can be focused down from 10-yards-to-infinity. The choice of power ranges from 1x-to-80x, ensuring that no target escapes a precise aim.
March Scopes are becoming the choice of competition shooters who love to win. These scopes are being used by more and more players of the national and world championships in both short-range and long-range set-ups. In fact, the national and world record holders are setting records with this crystal clear scopes. The national record holders of 800/900/1000 yard 4-Man Team in the US (2-out-of the 4 shooters) have been found to use March riflescopes.
The March Scopes are premium custom riflescopes that are manufactured for the discerning users who want the best performance always. These scopes are that good.
March Scopes – Pros and Cons
Pros
- March riflescopes are lightweight and compact
- The glass and lenses are excellent and have the capability of beating 99% of the other scopes available in the market.
- They can be used throughout the entire magnification range.
- The intensity of illumination is well balanced and doesn’t overshoot.
- The manufacturer has ensured that the zero set design remains simple as well intuitive.
- The turrets are mainly low profile and come with tactical clicks.
Cons
- The windage is non-capped and the adjustments may get altered on the field.
- The 3-24 March Scopes have slightly less forgiving parallax in comparison to some of its peers. However, it will not be an issue for shooters using it regularly.
The older March scopes usually came with 6400 mil version (as per NATO standard for artillery). As most MRAD scopes came with the mathematical 6283 mils/circle set-up and that’s why it could have posed a problem in the calculation. However, the newer March scopes now come with 6283 mils/circle, thereby getting rid of the calculation problem. So, you don’t have to factor in the 0.097mils instead of 0.100 in the ballistic calculator.
Different Types of March Scopes
March scopes are available in 7 variants:
Now, let’s take a closer look:
1. March-X Scope
The March-X Series is the most powerful zoom scope having up to 10x magnification range, thereby enabling you to focus from 10 yards to infinity. These scopes have a 34 mm body tube diameter, objective lens diameter of 56 mm, high-quality ED lenses (providing you with superior image resolution), and 3 magnification ranges (8-80x, 5-50x, and 10-60x).
As March-X Series scopes provide users with a high degree of ranging accuracy, clear imaging, and high-power magnification, they are becoming more and more popular with the Field Target air rifle competition shooters.

2. March SFP Scope
The second focal plane based March scopes come in two variants: 5x-32×52 mm and 10x-60×52 mm. Both these variants can be used by the serious long-range shooters. However, the best thing about these scopes is that the minimum focus distance is as close as 10 yards. This means you the long-range shooters can also use the SFP scopes for short-range Field Target air rifle competitions too. The users get superior image resolution through these March SFP scopes, thanks to the high-quality ED lenses.

3. March-FX Scope
March-FX Scopes are available with the highest zoom ratio that can be found in scopes having a first focal plane (FFP) configuration. As the reticles are located at FFP, the MRAD reticle scale value remains constant throughout the entire magnification range. The starting calibration will never be lost by the shooter because the March-FX riflescopes come with the capability of setting zero-point at any position in the elevation. DEON Optical Design Corporation has incorporated high-end ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses in these riflescopes, thereby eliminating the optical aberration.

5. March Fixed Power Scope
The innovative internal design of the fixed-power March scopes prevents POA’s unintentional shift. In fact, these BR scopes come with high-quality ED (extra-low dispersion) lenses that provide excellent image resolution even at high magnification.

The starting calibration will never be lost by the shooter because the March-F scopes come with the capability of setting zero-point at any position in the elevation.

7. March Genesis Scope (Extreme Long Range)
The March GENESIS scopes are specialized extreme-long-range riflescopes that come with an internal assembly that moves the reticle image as well as the field of view while the turret adjustment is done. The innovative design ensures that the reticle always remains optically centered within the scope’s internal lens assembly, which maximizes the optical clarity in all conditions.

Conclusion
March Scopes are crystal clear and the magnification ranges are as large as 10x, making them perfect for the Benchrest competition crowds. Though the older versions used to come with 6400 mil configuration(to be in sync with the NATO guidelines for the artilleries), the newer March scopes come with the 6283 mil configuration.
The zero stop is excellent and the pro shooters can get used to the parallax adjustment, which a bit different from others. However, the best aspects of March rifle scopes are that they are easy-to-use, lightweight, significantly low profile, and repeatable. These scopes provide you an elevation of 20 MRAD on rails of 20-30 MOA.
You should definitely buy these scopes if you are looking for a scope for long-range hunting, PRS (Precision Rifle Series), or crossover hunting. If you are looking for a scope that can cut weight, you can definitely buy the March Scopes.
