Nightforce New Scopes and Optics for 2020

What are the New Nightforce Scopes and Optics Launched in 2020?

The popularity of long-range and competition shooting is exploding. Keeping the increasing need for this market segment, Nightforce Optics has launched a new Nightforce Wedge Prism (100 MOA / 50 MOA) for extreme long-range (ELR) shooters in 2020 and two new exciting NF NX8 F1 Scopes (NX8 2.5-20×50 F1 and NX8 4-32×50 F1).

Nightforce has incorporated these new scopes, optics, and products with more power, target-style turrets, precision reticles, and illumination so that the shooters can get a better and top-notch optical device that is as transformed as the rifles they sit on.

Nightforce Optics Wins New SOCOM Military Contract

In fact, Nightforce Optics has again proved its mettle in the scoping and optical market by delivering quality products. Recognizing NF’s uncompromised quality standards, the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and the US Department of Defense (DoD) have chosen Nightforce Optics to deliver Precision-Variable Power Scopes (P-VPS) that cover both standard and long-range variants.

P-VPS requires a scope to deliver a visual magnification that ranges from 3x to 7x and continuous zoom up to 25x. The indefinite-delivery,  indefinite-quantity contract of around $54 million for the U.S. Special Operations Command’s (SOCOM’s) sniper rifles will require Nightforce to deliver Nightforce MIL-SPEC ATACR 5-25×56 Dayscopes and Nightforce MIL-SPEC ATACR 7-35×56 Long Range Dayscope l Riflescopes over a fixed 5-year period.

Their commercially available variants are:

Now, let’s have a more detailed look at the new scopes and optics that Nightforce Optics has launched in 2020:

Nightforce Wedge Prisms: New for 2020

Who Should Buy?

Nightforce Optics has released a new product, Nightforce Wedge Prism, especially for the extreme long-range (ELR) shooters.

What’s so Special?

It has been seen that many long-range shooters complain that their riflescopes lack the necessary elevation travel. To do away with this problem, Nightforce Optics has released a new clip-on accessory called the Nightforce Wedge Prism.

The shooter can mount this accessory to a forward or continuous MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail for increasing the effective elevation travel. When you use the Wedge Prism, it optically shifts the incoming image to the rifle scope by a precise elevation value. This directly adds elevation to the already to the available elevation travel within a scope.

Therefore, Nightforce Wedge Prism works with scopes for providing additional aiming offset, thereby allowing extreme long-range shooters with repeatable and successful target engagements beyond a riflescope’s internal adjustment alone. This new clip-on accessory not only provides a repeatable offset of the optical image but also minimizes the loss of image clarity, resolution, and quality.

These Wedge Prisms come with a quick-detach lever so that the shooters can quickly detach and remove them in the field easily and rapidly. When you attach Nightforce Wedge Prism to a rail, you’ll not experience any additional stresses on the riflescope.

Commercial Sales Manager of Nightforce Optics elucidated the importance of Wedge Prism with an example:

With this simple tool, a shooter can easily do the math to configure their rifle to hit their target… For example, if my .416 Barrett requires 124 MOA of drop at 3,000 yards, but my scope will only dial-up 90 MOA from zero, adding a 50 MOA Wedge Prism offsets the required dialing and only needs to be dialed up 74 MOA to reach the target and use the center aiming point of the reticle. This same principle works for .22 LRs past 300 yards, subsonic .300 Blackouts at 400 yards or when pushing any other cartridge beyond their normal limits.

What are Available Models?

Nightforce has launched Wedge Prism in two variants:

  1. 100 MOA / 29.1 MRAD
  2. 50 MOA / 14.5 MRAD

A shooter can either use an individual unit of Wedge Prism or combine models to personalize the amount of additional offset needed for reaching their target.
