Leupold Releases New VX-5HD Riflescopes in 2017 for Hunters to Up Their Game

Leupold has introduced its new line of VX-5HD riflescopes in 2017. These scopes are ideally suited for self-sufficient hunters who want to push their limits for bigger challenges as well as greater hunts. In the initial launch, Leupold VX-5HD riflescope line comes with 1-5x, 2-10x and 3-15x models. You can use these scopes to meet any task.

Leupold has incorporated many new and advanced features in these scopes –

  • With VX-5HD riflescopes hunters always get crisp and clear target images no matter which light condition they are hunting. Whether you are hunting during dawn, last inkling of twilight, or under midday sun, new Leupold VX-5HD is always ready to go.
    • To provide hunters with an advanced optical experience, Leupold has incorporated High-Definition optical system at Leupold VX-5HD rifle scope.
    • To provide pro hunters with enhanced low light performance, Leupold has included Twilight Max Light Management System. It provides visible advantage to hunters during dawn as well as dusk, the perfect time when biggest game is on the move.
  • To help pro hunters experience secure locking dial, Leupold has introduced new CDS-ZL2 (Custom Dial System ZeroLock 2) adjustments. What are the Reticles Available?

Choosing the right reticle is extremely important for pro hunters as the right choice can increase the number of hits and minimize misses. A single reticle can’t meet needs of all the shooters. Though the main purpose of reticles is to give hunters and shooters a centralized aiming point, reticle needs differ in accordance with hunting conditions, shooting activities, and targets types.

Reticle needs may vary according to varmint hunting, general hunting, hog or pig hunting, low light shooting, range estimation, bullet drop compensation, and many more. Keeping these aspects in mind, Leupold has incorporated 5 types of reticles with Leupold VX-5HD scope models –

  • Duplex Reticle Duplex reticle has been designed by Leupold in 1962. It comes with heavy posts, which ensures that they remain visible even in twilight conditions and against cover. The reticle also comes with thin crosshair that remains clearly visible at the center.
  • FireDot 4 ReticleFireDot 4 reticle is characterized by –

    These features ensure that eye of the hunter remains focused at the center. FireDot reticle is particularly helpful in fast target acquisition.

  • Wind-PlexThe name says it all. Wind-Plex reticle has all the versatility features one finds at Duplex reticle. In addition, the reticle designers have added wind hold marks on the windage plane at the increment of 1 MOA. Therefore, simple corrections can be done with ease. One of the most beneficial aspect of Wind Plex reticle is that it works perfectly right with CDS-ZL2 (Custom Dial System ZeroLock 2) adjustments, thereby giving hunters and shooters with a complete ballistic correction solution.
  • Boone And Crockett Big Game ReticleThis big game reticle is especially useful for long range shooting, which provides precise aiming points. Boone and Crockett reticle comes with easy to remember wind deflection and range increments.
  • Impact-29 MOA ReticleImpact-29 MOA reticle comes with precision aiming point system for compensating wind drift as well as bullet drop, without turning dials. Hunters can also range targets with this reticle. “29” in the reticle name signifies the MOA holover amount.

    Argon/Krypton gas blend has twofold benefits –

    • Diffusion of gases inside the riflescope is reduced significantly, much more than that of nitrogen. This is because the Argon/Krypton molecules are much larger than nitrogen molecules.

    2nd Generation Argon/Krypton Waterproofing exceeds the waterproofing standards, set by Leupold itself. New Leupold VX-5 HD scope is 100 percent waterproof and fogproof.

  • Extreme Fast-Focus EyepieceUser can make full range diopter adjustment by making a complete eyepiece turn. Extreme Fast-Focus Eyepiece ensures that the hunters and shooters get –

  • 30mm Maintube
    • Leupold VX-5HD scopes comes with 30mm main tube diameter, giving hunters with larger internal adjustment range than 1 inch tubes. Hunters who routinely shoot beyond 500 yards find 30mm scope tubes more helpful. When shooting long distances, extent of internal adjustment may run out in case of 1 inch tube. However, with 30mm tubes, you get more internal adjustments. Therefore, you can use Leupold VX5HD for long range shooting too.
    • Shooters also get enhanced light transmission (marginally) with 30mm tube over 1 inch tube (25.4mm).
